The Latest on “Thornetta: The Musical”

We’ve been quiet for some time now on this site, but it’s certainly not due to a lack of productivity. During the latter part of 2014, we worked on some important pre-production steps for our Thornetta: The Musical  production.

The most important news is that we have secured a location for our initial run of shows – The InsideOut Gallery in Traverse City, MI! We plan to perform nine shows at that venue in September of 2015; less than seven months away!

We also have our official logo now (as you’ve probably noticed all over the website) thanks to the talents and vision of Mike Erway.

This is the official logo for Thornetta: The Musical, designed by Mike Erway based on a photograph taken by Michael Poehlman.

Mike is a freelance designer living in Traverse City, MI, and is always on the lookout for new business identity projects. His slogan is “Inspired Design is Good Business.” You can see more examples of his excellent work at and you can also contact him at

The inspiration for Mike’s logo came from an incredible photo taken by local photographer Michael Poehlman. He also shot the cool individual bio pics of the Thornetta team that you can view here. See more of Michael’s breath-taking photography at

If you haven’t visited this site in a while, you’ll probably notice that it’s gone through a complete makeover, which includes all new content. We’ve added a countdown to our Opening Night show, a photo gallery, a floating music player, updated bios, and an opt-in for our newsletter. There are feeds from our Twitter account and Facebook Fan Page as well. Once a few kinks are worked out of our events page, it will be published with detailed show information. Tickets will be available for purchase directly from our site shortly after.

In production related news, Timothy Callaghan is in his lab, cooking up some exciting new music for Thornetta: The Musical. A few excerpts are available to listen to on the floating player below. Along with their production and marketing duties, Bridget Callaghan and Jeff Swesky will soon be putting the finishing touches on the stage play.
