Rest in Peace, Prince

The Thornetta team is deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of one of the true musical geniuses of our time. Prince, an extraordinary singer, songwriter, guitarist, composer, arranger, performer, musician, innovator, collaborator, mentor … artist, is and will always be a huge inspiration to our team. We mourn his death, along with rest of the world, but also celebrate his life and all of the gifts that he’s given us.

YouTube seems to be blocking us from embedding his videos directly into our post, so please look around YouTube to watch some of his great live performances. People are posting some of his live performances right now. Way too many terrific clips, but here are some wonderful performances we’d like to note and recommend that you search for:

Prince at the Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show (in an insane downpour,) his performance at the Britt Awards, his performance with Beyonce at the 46th Grammy Awards, his guitar support for Amy Winehouse’s during her performance of “Love is a Losing Game,” his cover of Radiohead’s “Creep” at Coachella (2008,) and his f’ing phenomenal guitar solo near the end of a “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” cover during the 2004 Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Inductions as a tribute to George Harrison.

Rest in Peace, Prince. And Baby, you are a star. A big, bright, shining, omnipresent STAR.
